Gear Needed To Play Airsoft. As far as gear you will need a camouflage battle dress uniform or BDU. You will want the correct uniform for the weather conditions depending on which of the four seasons you are going out in. You will want to blend in with the terrain you are in when playing airsoft. You don't want to stand out like a sore thumb. Some airsoft enthusiast also purchase a ghillie suit which will allow you to blend in with cover such as trees and bushes. Camouflage uniforms just like the military uses can be purchased at your local army surplus store or on line. You will need a load bearing vest or chest rig. You will want to pick up either a canteen or what is known as a hydration pack with tube to keep you hydrated while out in the woods. You will be walking and at times running while palying this sport and you certainly do not want to become dehydrated. Boots are an important part of your gear for keeping your feet warm and dry as well as for traction. You wont want to forget to pack extra ammunition and magazines. If your out in the woods and run out of ammunition the games over for you. Finally you will want a primary weapon and a secondary weapon. The primary weapon is the one you will use and rely on the majoriety of the time you are out there. The secondary weapon is your back up or reserve weapon. If the peimary weapon malfunctions for some reason you have a back up and your still in the game.

Plastic vs Metal Airsoft Guns

The choice between plastic and metal when it comes to airsoft guns should be determined by a few factors. First your budget. Plastic is by far less expensive by over a hundred dollars or more and has this advantage over metal guns, plastic is lighter in weight and easier to carry but is not as durable as metal. Second you will want to take this into consideration also when choosing between plastic or metal. Plastic will not hold up under stress like metal will. The metal guns are more realistic in look and feel but are also much heavier than plastic but will hold up under intense usage. The choice is yours and a lot depends on if the sport of airsoft is just a hobby for you or if your a serious player. Not just a weekend warrior a few times a year.
